Gathering for fun, service, and celebration.
Employees throughout the community—from classrooms, research labs, and administrative offices—celebrate one another’s achievements, and give of their time and talents. Each year, we gather for our Employee Appreciation celebration and the Faculty Retreat to recognize colleagues who have achieved service milestones and to celebrate winners of our Presidential Achievement Awards and Faculty Awards.
Collaboration Award – for performance and outstanding representation of the MCPHS mission (aligns actions and decisions with the University’s Core Value of Collaboration).
Innovation Award – for embracing change and challenging the status quo to inspire curiosity, advance knowledge, and make a meaningful difference in the world (aligns actions and decisions with the University’s Core Value of Innovation).
Service Award – for providing inspirational service as part of the MCPHS community, making the University a better place, and/or inspiring others to act in a manner that creates positive community experiences (aligns actions and decisions with the University’s Core Values of Integrity and Support).
Inclusion Award – for fostering a culture of inclusion by considering viewpoints through multiple lenses, working with a variety of stakeholders, and exhibiting a commitment to inclusion, diversity, equity, and belonging to implement a program or project that impacts a broad constituency (aligns actions and decisions with the University’s Core Values of Inclusion and Community).
Gail P. and Edward A. Bucher Trustees’ Award for Excellence in Faculty-Student Research Collaboration – recognizes a full-time faculty member for notable achievements made in joint faculty-student original research in a discovery area and honors in-depth faculty-mentored scholarly projects.
The Trustees’ Awards for Teaching Excellence – recognizes two faculty members – one from the Boston campus and one from the Worcester/Manchester campuses.
Faculty Scholarship Awards – recognize the scholarly works of our faculty in three award categories: Scholarship of Discovery and Creative Work, Scholarship of Teaching and Learning, and Scholarship of Integration or Scholarship.
Faculty Service Awards – recognizes the outstanding service achievements of faculty as defined by the Faculty Manual.
2024 Employee Awards
Darlene DiTommaso, School of Pharmacy Worcester-Manchester, Worcester Campus – Collaboration Winner: This past year, Darlene used her collaboration skills to organize an inclusion event in Worcester with the DEI Strategic Priority team; she supported the School of Pharmacy - Worcester/Manchester Accreditation Self-Study and Site Visit, which successfully obtained full accreditation for another eight years; partnered with Academic Affairs with managing Faculty Day activities; assisted as part of the event planning and execution team for the Worcester/Manchester Research and Scholarship interprofessional event; provided academic support to Boston Graduate Faculty by arranging, coordinating, and sometimes proctoring exams for Worcester-based Pharmacy Boston graduate students; and partnered with the Office of Student Access and Accommodations to address academic support needs for the School of Pharmacy - Worcester/Manchester.
