Health and Wellbeing

A holistic perspective on health and wellbeing.

At MCPHS, we take a whole-person, whole-community approach to the physical, emotional, and financial wellbeing of our employees. It’s core to our mission and our institutional DNA, which is why we work tirelessly to provide resources that promote healthy living.

If you are enrolled in one of our medical plans, you can work with a wellness coach to take greater control of your health, choose the right care, get the most from your health plan, and understand complex diagnoses and procedures.

Employees enrolled in one of the MCPHS-sponsored medical plans may also receive assistance from the BlueCross BlueShield of Massachusetts (BCBSMA) Care Concierge team of dedicated nurses as well as the following reimbursements:

  • Body and Mind Benefit – Reimbursement of up to $300 per policy (family) per calendar year for covered services including massage, hypnosis, qi gong, tai chi, meditation, and mediation and breathing apps.
  • Fitness Reimbursement – Reimbursement of up to $500 per policy (family) per calendar year for membership at a gym/health club, virtual classes, or eligible in-home fitness equipment (e.g., treadmill, elliptical).
  • Weight Loss Reimbursement – Reimbursement of up to $500 per year per subscriber for up to three months of fees for a qualified weight loss program.

Community components of wellness.

Even if you’re not enrolled in an MCPHS-sponsored medical plan, you have access to our online wellness portal, AHealthyMe.com, as well as a variety of onsite and virtual events and seminars. Programs and tools include:

  • Interactive health and wellness courses, educational content, and videos.
  • Comprehensive, personalized health assessment to identify areas for improvement and set goals.
  • Personalized wellness plans, tools, and resources to improve your health, reduce health risks, and develop long-term healthy habits.
  • Seamless access through MyBlue and on-the-go via the app (compatible with fitness trackers such as MyFitnessPal, Apple Health, Google Fit, Garmin, and Fitbit).
  • Opportunities to participate in team and individual challenges, ranging from steps, to sleep, to emotional well-being.
  • Rewards such as gift cards for healthy actions you are already taking.
  • Access to Burnalong, a website and app that provides access to 17,000 on-demand and live fitness classes.
  • Everflex, a tool within the AHealthyMe portal that provides exercise ideas to target pain and reduce your risk of injury.
  • Recreational facilities, wellness lunch-and-learns, tobacco-free campuses, and tobacco-cessation resources.
