Commencement ceremonies that will take place at the Leader Bank Pavilion in Boston, MA on May 8, 2025. Below is information regarding faculty registration, regalia ordering/pick up and frequently asked questions. Please read the following information carefully and note important deadlines.

Commencement Day Schedules

The Morning Ceremony will include candidates from the following Academic Schools:

  • School of Professional Studies
  • School of Pharmacy – Boston
  • School of Arts & Sciences
  • School of Medical Imaging and Therapeutics
  • Forsyth School of Dental Hygiene

9:15 a.m.Gates open for all MCPHS participants and ticketed guests
10:30 a.m.Morning ceremony begins

The Afternoon Ceremony will include candidates from the following Academic Schools:

  • School of Nursing
  • School of Pharmacy – W/M
  • School of Occupational Therapy
  • School of Physical Therapy
  • School of Optometry
  • School of Physician Assistant Studies – Boston
  • School of Healthcare Business and Technology
  • New England School of Acupuncture

Commencement Registration

Faculty/Faculty Emeritus, University Leadership, and University Dignitaries are asked to complete online registration no later than 4:30 p.m. on March 20, 2025. The registration form assists the Commencement Team and the venue with planning and logistics.

General Information

Please review the following general information in preparation for the May Ceremonies.

  • Faculty/Faculty Emeritus, University Leadership, and University Dignitaries participating in the academic ceremonies and/or Commencement are asked to robe in regalia.
  • Regalia can be rented if needed, by completing the registration form.
  • Those who rent regalia must return it at the conclusion of the Commencement.
  • Faculty, academic deans/directors and/or administrative staff are unable to pick up regalia in “bulk” for candidates.
  • Faculty who has their own regalia can wear it but must still register.
  • Generally, regalia is for academic ceremonies and Commencement.
  • Please note registration for regalia closes on March 20.
  • At the conclusion of Commencement Day, please return all rental regalia to the bookstore vendor table. If you accidentally forget to return an item, please send it to the MCPHS Bookstore.

Is registration required for Faculty and Staff who are attending Commencement?

  • Yes, all faculty and staff who are attending must register by March 20, 2024.
  • Registration is for regalia and several other logistics that help with planning.

I am a faculty/staff member and a candidate, what do I do?

  • All eligible candidates are to register for regalia and Commencement whether they plan to attend or not.
  • If you are faculty/staff but will be participating as a candidate, please follow all the same information and registration timelines for candidates.

Volunteer/help Opportunities

If you would like to participate in helping our team, we kindly ask you to click here and complete the sign-up form.

  • Please complete the form no later than Friday, April 4th so we can appropriately plan volunteer assignments and order necessary supplies.
  • University Leadership supports and encourages employee participation at Commencement.

Please note: Faculty who wish to robe and process for Commencement should not sign up to volunteer for the ceremony. If you plan to robe and process, please complete the Faculty Registration Form instead.

Where is the Leader Bank Pavilion located, and what is the best way to get there?

  • Leader Bank Pavilion is in the Seaport District of Boston at 290 Northern Ave, Boston, MA 02210
  • The use of public transit, rideshare, or carpooling to arrive at Leader Bank Pavilion is recommended because parking in the area is limited.
  • Take the MBTA subway, commuter rail, or bus to South Station and connect with the MBTA Silver Line Waterfront (one level above the Red Line, one level below the food court) to Silver Line Way. Leader Bank Pavilion is a short walk from this stop.

What transportation options are available for Commencement Day?

  • Due to the accessibility of the Seaport, utilizing rideshare and public transit is recommended.
  • There are parking garages and lots in the Seaport area surrounding the Leader Bank Pavilion. Some parking options in the area: EDIC Garage at 373 Northern Avenue, Seaport Boston Parking at 1 Seaport Lane, South Boston Waterfront Transportation Center at 503 Congress Street
  • Take the MBTA subway, commuter rail or bus to South Station and connect with the MBTA Silver Line Waterfront (one level above the red line, one level below the food court) to Silver Line Way. Leader Bank Pavilion is a short walk from this stop.

Will the ceremonies be canceled due to inclement weather?

  • The Commencement ceremonies will go on rain or shine.
  • However, in the event of severe weather we will keep our candidates notified via our RAVE Alert system and website.

What is the Leader Bank Pavilion's Security and Bag policy?

  • All attendees will proceed through metal detectors upon entry.
  • All bags are subject to search upon entry.
  • Guests have the right to refuse a bag search, and the venue has the right to refuse entry.
  • Clear plastic, vinyl or PVC tote bags no larger than 12” x 6” x 12” and/or small clutch bags (6”x 9”) are allowed.
  • No other bags of any type will be allowed.
  • Diaper bags are permitted.

Where are the entrance gates?

Faculty, volunteers, and dignitaries must enter through the Yankee Lobster Patio Gate. MCPHS staff will be on hand to direct individuals on where to go once entering through the Yankee Lobster Patio.

Are there prohibited items?

  • Weapons of any kind - knives, guns, mace, pepper gas or any other item deemed a potential weapon, alcohol, illegal drugs/substances
  • Glass or metal, cans or bottles (regardless of contents), hard sided/large coolers, average sized bags/backpacks
  • Large or oversized bags/backpacks, such as luggage, duffel bags, or industrial/camping-sized backpacks, hydration packs
  • Laser pointers, large signs, posters or flags
  • Animals (except service animals)
  • Fireworks or other incendiary devices
  • Any other item that may pose a threat to others
  • Umbrellas that do not collapse
