Associate Controller Lorraine Bock
Associate Controller Lorraine Bock’s extensive background in executive-level accounting for both public and private organizations gives her a distinct perspective on Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences. “I’ve never worked any place where truly everyone’s efforts are laser-focused on the core mission,” she says. “From President Lessard and Provost Zeind on down, the entire university is dedicated to the health, happiness, and success of our students.”
Bock relocated from Michigan to Massachusetts in 2017 for family and quality of life reasons, and an executive recruiting firm alerted her to the opening in the MCPHS Business Office. “I formed a very positive impression of the university during the interview process,” says Bock, “and I found the compensation package and benefits to be very competitive. When I took the job, my new colleagues couldn’t have been more helpful in bringing me up to speed on all things MCPHS.”
One of Bock’s favorite aspects of the university is the can-do vibe that permeates the campus. “I don’t think you’ll find many large organizations where so many people enthusiastically participate in community events,” she says. “From serving free meals and snacks to students during finals to helping with bicentennial celebrations, folks love to lend a hand. Like so many others, I consider MCPHS my home. Knock on wood, I hope to be here for the rest of my career.”
