Travel Scholarships and Financial Aid

Each year, the MCPHS Center for International Studies (CIS) offers merit-based and need-based scholarships to cover a portion of students’ international programs, as well as a small number of prestigious Ambassador Scholarships through the Ambassador Scholarship Program. The CIS can also help students find external sources of financial aid and provide guidance on funding to put global study plans in motion.

MCPHS International Ambassadors

Representing the CIS and our international programs, Student Ambassadors commit to sharing their experiences on international service learning trips, clinical rotations, and clerkships with the MCPHS community at campus events and online. They participate in panels, create blogs, and attend events to provide their unique perspective on what it’s like to study abroad.

Student Ambassador Kimberly Levitt, MPH, for example, took advantage of an independent study research trip to London, England, where she met with policymakers, physicians, and other leaders focused on the National Health System’s future plans for preventing HIV.

“We live in a globalized society,” she says, “so it’s important to develop a comprehensive worldview. As you approach the world through different perspectives, you also learn new things about your own culture and community.”

Kimberly’s London opportunity opened her mind to other career specialties and populations she could explore as a future healthcare professional. “If I could sum up my experience in one word, it would be inspiring. My experience abroad and at MCPHS has given me the confidence, tools, and skills to succeed and make a difference in public health.”
