Massachusetts State Aid
The Massachusetts State Aid program provides need based aid to full-time undergraduate students who demonstrate exceptional financial need and meet the Massachusetts residency requirements as detailed by the Massachusetts Office of Student Financial Assistance. Award amounts are determined by the state government and are estimated until final state appropriations. These programs are:
MASS Grant
This state program provides grants to undergraduate Massachusetts residents who are Pell grant eligible. The state of Massachusetts determines award amounts based on an individual's Student Aid Index. Full-time enrollment is required for receipt of funds.
Part-Time Grant
The state provides grants to undergraduate Massachusetts residents who are enrolled between 6 and 11 credits, and who would otherwise be eligible for the Mass Grant. MCPHS distributes funds based on finite amounts received from the state.
Gilbert Grant
This state program provides grants to undergraduate Massachusetts residents who are Pell grant eligible and are enrolled full-time. MCPHS distributes funds based on finite amounts received from the state, prioritizing students with demonstrated need.
Foster Child Grant
This state program provides grants to undergraduate Massachusetts residents who are currently receiving care from the Department of Children and Families and are between the ages of 18 and 24 and who are enrolled full-time. The state of Massachusetts determines award amounts.
High-Demand Scholarship
This state program provides this scholarship to students who complete an application and who are deemed eligible. The state of Massachusetts determines award amounts.
Herter Scholarship
This state program provides this scholarship to students who are nominated by their high school and who are deemed eligible. The state of Massachusetts determines award amounts.
Mass Behavioral Health Award
This state program provides this award to help cover the costs of required internship hours in eligible programs. MCPHS distributes funds based on finite amounts received from the state, prioritizing students with demonstrated need.
