Upon successful completion of the Master of Acupuncture program, students will be able to:
Apply the foundational knowledge of acupuncture and/or Chinese herbal medicine to inform diagnosis, treatment, and patient care.
Understand biomedical principles of assessment, diagnosis, and treatment to manage patient care and make appropriate referrals to other healthcare providers.
Conduct a comprehensive intake, physical exam, and objective assessment to arrive at an East Asian medicine diagnosis.
Safely administer a patient-centered acupuncture and/or Chinese herbal medicine treatment.
Practice ethically and with integrity while employing critical reasoning, cultural humility, and professional judgment.
Communicate effectively in person or through technology to provide patient-centered care and refer to other healthcare professionals as necessary.
Implement a plan to establish and sustain a successful career in acupuncture.
Utilize scholarship and research to improve patient care.
