About
Olivia Freeman, MBA, OTR/L, is an Assistant Professor and Academic Fieldwork Coordinator in the School of Occupational Therapy. She was appointed to the MCPHS faculty in 2020 and has worked at the University since 2018. Prior to her transition to academic, Professor Freeman was a clinician for more than 13 years, working in adult rehabilitation in acute care, inpatient rehab, and skilled nursing facilities. She coordinated the OT fieldwork program for an inpatient rehabilitation unit at a local hospital for 10 years, ensuring the student rotation program was effective and efficient for both students and their practitioners.
Professor Freeman’s research interests focus on student and fieldwork educator success and preparedness, specifically for Level 1 and Level 2 fieldwork experiences. She has also studied mental health needs while on fieldwork. At MCPHS, she teaches all courses associated with Level I and Level II fieldwork experiences and assists teaching the Motor Performance across the Lifespan course.
