MCPHS Center for Research and Discovery to Host Student Research Events in April
By Dana Barbuto
Students have until March 22 to submit their abstracts for two major research events hosted by the CRD this spring.
The Center for Research and Discovery (CRD) at Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences (MCPHS) will host two student research events in April, bringing together students, faculty, and healthcare and life sciences professionals to showcase and discuss cutting-edge scholarship.
Worcester Student Research & Scholarship Day
The first event, the annual Research & Scholarship Day Interprofessional Event, will take place from 4:20 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. on April 10 at the Lincoln Ballroom on the MCPHS Worcester campus. This event will highlight student scholarship activities from all Worcester and Manchester campus programs. Professional students, graduate students, post-graduate residents, and fellows will present their abstracts, engaging with peers and faculty members to discuss their research findings.
Boston Student Research Conference: ‘Code, Cure, and Conquer’
The sixth annual Boston Student Research Conference will be held on April 12, under the theme “Code, Cure, and Conquer: Charting New Paths with AI in Healthcare.” This event on the MCPHS Boston campus will run from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., with an option for virtual attendance to hear from the keynote speaker. Students will present their research through oral lectures and poster presentations, showcasing the impact of artificial intelligence and other innovations in healthcare.
Expanding Research Opportunities
Last year’s events featured more than 150 student research projects on topics ranging from artificial intelligence to mental health. The CRD anticipates another year of strong participation and encourages students to submit their abstracts by March 22.
New Award: Research Mentor of the Year
This year marks the introduction of the Research Mentor of the Year Award, which will annually recognize outstanding faculty members from the Boston, Worcester and Manchester campuses for their contributions to student research.
