Doctor of Acupuncture (DAC) Completion program

Your One-Year Completion Journey

The Doctor of Acupuncture (DAC) Completion program is designed to meet the highest standards of competency set by the Accreditation Commission for Acupuncture and Herbal Medicine (ACAHM).

Those who have completed a master’s level program in acupuncture or acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine are 20-credits away from earning their DAC.

Students that have not completed a course in chemistry as part of their master's level program in acupuncture or acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine must complete a course in chemistry as part of this program.

First-Semester Experience

  • Develop skills to create and evaluate research.
  • Learn to communicate and collaborate effectively with other healthcare providers.
  • Explore models of integrative care with a focus on pain management.
  • Work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to develop patient-centered treatment plans as part of our interactive, virtual clinical experiences.

Second-Semester Experience

  • Pursue improvement, innovation, and collaboration in integrative healthcare.
  • Gain an understanding of today’s patient-centered policies and practices.
  • Build on knowledge of integrative care as a means for pain management.
  • Continue to work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to develop patient-centered treatment plans as part of our interactive, virtual clinical experiences.

Advanced diagnostic studies

You will master advanced diagnostic procedures in this program, learning to assess and communicate diagnostic findings effectively. You'll also learn how to use diagnostic imaging, laboratory tools, and other methods to enhance your clinical decision-making and collaborate with other healthcare professionals.  

Research and evidence-based practice

The Doctor of Acupuncture Completion program emphasizes the importance of evidence-based medicine and evidence-informed practice. You will learn how to assess and apply research to modify treatment plans and improve patient outcomes, all while refining your ability to contribute to the growing body of acupuncture research.

The innovative NESA curriculum emphasizes the development of advanced clinical skills and the integration of acupuncture into collaborative healthcare models.
