In The Future of Telehealth, students learn how to leverage technology and tools to support personalized, precise, predictive, preventive, participatory healthcare with the use of pharmacogenomics, data analytics and population management. Beginning with a review of telehealth principles, the course identifies nontraditional uses of telepharmacy and defines concepts like alert fatigue and its relation to clinician burnout.
This course includes self-paced content and one 60-minute live, virtual session with telehealth experts.

Learning objectives
Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to:
- Define telepharmacy and list the four different types.
- Identify the non-traditional uses of telepharmacy.
- Describe the technology tools used in pharmacy.
- Compare and contrast high-threshold and low-threshold alert.
- Define alert fatigue.
- Interpret a drug-drug interaction alert.
- Develop a "next-steps" action plan.
- Define pharmacogenomics and discuss practice guidelines related to it.
- Discuss key drugs for which pharmacogenomic testing is utilized.
- Define population health and identify its core principles.
- Define risk scores and describe how risk stratification informs population health.
- Describe strategies to integrate and operationalize population health concepts into day-to-day healthcare.
