About
Dr. Adams worked as a registered dental hygienist in private dental practices for 19 years prior to starting her career at MCPHS. During her clinical career, she was among the first hygienists in Massachusetts to receive a permit to administer local anesthesia. She became an emergency medical technician, assisted with forensic identification, and worked as an adjunct clinical instructor. Her research interest is focused on reducing disruptive behavior in the clinical learning environment. Dr. Adams is also dedicated to improving global access to dental care; from 2008 to the present, she has volunteered on yearly service trips to Central America, Africa, and Southeast Asia.
