About
Dr. Spooner's teaching focuses on topics in infectious diseases, including HIV, tuberculosis, and viral hepatitis in the Pharmacotherapeutics series. She coordinates Patient Care Seminar I, where she teaches an interprofessional education session with physicians. She teaches global availability of resources in Ethics, viral and liver labs in Patient Care Seminar II, and pharmacogenomics of antiretrovirals in Pharmacogenomics. She coordinates a Pharmacotherapy of HIV and Viral Hepatitis and teaches HIV and hepatitis-related content in electives such as Drugs of Abuse, Drug Interactions, and Antimicrobial Stewardship. Dr. Spooner teaches a session each in the Medication Safety Certificate program and Physician Assistant program. She maintains a clinical practice at Saint Vincent Hospital, where she precepts students on their Internal Medicine APPE rotation.
