About

Evan Horton is an associate professor of pharmacy practice at MCPHS. Originally from central Pennsylvania, he earned his Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) from Shenandoah University in Winchester, Virginia, in 2005. He completed a PGY1 pharmacy residency at UNM Hospital in Albuquerque, New Mexico, in 2006 and joined the MCPHS faculty later that year.

Dr. Horton is board certified in pediatric pharmacotherapy (BCPPS) and maintains a clinical practice site in general pediatrics at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield, Massachusetts. He is an active member of the Pediatric Pharmacy Association and brings his clinical expertise into the classroom by teaching pediatric pharmacotherapy, pain management, and substance use disorder concepts within the School of Pharmacy.

An expert on pain management and substance use, Dr. Horton has consulted on court cases related to opioids and pain management. He has also delivered national presentations on the heroin epidemic and the education of medical professionals about medical cannabis.
