About
Professor Andrea Desimone has been a practicing occupational therapist since 2004, working in a variety of settings including clinical operations, management, inpatient rehabilitation, skilled nursing, and home health. Professor Desimone is also a licensed massage therapist and a certified dementia practitioner. Her clinical interests are dementia care and manual therapy. She has worked as a mentor for these and other disciplines, providing education and support for other therapists. She is also a certified fieldwork educator through the American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA).
In 2021, Professor Desimone transitioned from inpatient rehabilitation to academia. In the Master of Science in Occupational Therapy (MSOT) program, she teaches the Group Process course during the first semester and supervises students in their Level I Community Mental Health fieldwork rotations during the second semester. She also supports all courses associated with students’ Level I and Level II fieldwork rotations and works with students in both Worcester and Manchester, NH to secure fieldwork placements.
