Research and Scholarship
Leadership in Pharmacy Education (LiPhE) InstitutePharmacy students generate new knowledge while exploring interesting questions and honing their analytical skills via scholarly projects. Being involved in research at MCPHS – and at institutions affiliated with our University – expands horizons. It exposes students to exciting frontiers and provides them with valuable experience that is relevant to a variety of interesting careers in healthcare and the life sciences.
Getting Involved with Faculty Research
Our distinguished faculty are experts in topics ranging from drug safety to genome editing to healthcare policy. They enjoy collaborating with students to conceive and carry out research projects as well as present and publish the results.
Students can pursue a project with MCPHS faculty through:
- A Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowship (SURF)
- Honors program (Boston only)
- Undergraduate research projects
- Graduate research projects
There are also opportunities to present project results at MCPHS and beyond. For example, the University hosts an Interprofessional Student Scholarship showcase each year as well as a SURF poster session. MCPHS helps to cover registration fees for regional and national conferences, where students can share their results.
