About Founders & FuturistsInclusive Community Intro
Diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives are integral to our quest to make healthcare work for more people.
Addressing Healthcare Equity
At Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences (MCPHS), we embrace the power of inclusivity. After all, healthcare equity remains one of the most pressing issues of our time, and we have a responsibility to address it, given our focus on health and life sciences education. We believe it takes dedicated people with different experiences and perspectives working together to find solutions that leave no one behind.
Inclusion is about everyone. That’s exactly what inclusion means and it is really about diverse perspectives and viewpoints.
Jacinda Félix Haro | Dean of Students and Senior Student Affairs Officer.
By welcoming students from many different backgrounds, encouraging dialogue, and emphasizing the importance of compassion, our DEI efforts are expanding minds and opening up opportunities across the healthcare spectrum. Because when you unlock potential, good things happen. People share, learn, and get better together. Our vision is to create a healthier, more equitable world, where everyone has a chance to live their best life possible.
Change like this isn’t easy, but we’re focused on being part of the solution. It’s why we offer students a chance to take part in interprofessional activities from their earliest days at the University. In addition to preparing them for a collaborative work environment, these activities expose students to different points of view early on, giving them the kind of perspective that can lead to innovative problem solving in the future.
True equality requires an open mind before it can open new doors. MCPHS is looking beyond the issues that hold us back, nurturing leaders who will provide compassionate care and evolve healthcare organizations and systems to better serve individuals, communities, and society.
